  • What types of recording services do you offer? 
    We have 2 studios available for writing, recording, production and mixing sessions. We can also accommodate voiceovers, podcasts and listening sessions. 

  • How do studio rates work? 
    We offer 2-hour sessions in the morning, half day sessions or full-day sessions. 

  • What is your cancellation policy? 

If you cancel within 24 hours you are required to pay 100% of the total session cost, if you cancel within 48 hours you are required to pay 50% of the cost. 

  • Where is The Dairy located? 
    The Dairy Studios is based in Brixton, South London, at 43–45 Tunstall Road, London, SW9 8BZ. 

  • What is the difference between the two studios you have at The Dairy? 

Studio 2: Perfect for writing, recording, production and mixing, with an SSL console, lots of analogue outboard gear and a vocal booth. 

Studio 3: A smaller cosy writing room with an upright piano and vocal booth, perfect for writing, vocals and production.  

  • What are your studio opening hours? 

Monday–Sunday: 10:00 – 00:00 

We will take bookings ending after Midnight provided we can organise assistants/engineers in time. 

  • Do you offer mixing and mastering services? 
    Yes, Studio 2 is specifically equipped for mixing and mastering. 

  • Do you have parking at The Dairy? 
    Yes, we have private off-street parking in our courtyard, no need to book or reserve. 

  • Do you allow filming? 
    Yes absolutely, please tag us so we can see it too! 

  • Is The Dairy suitable for unsigned or emerging artists? 
    Yes. The Dairy often collaborates with emerging artists and has programs designed to support unsigned talent. 

  • Do you have social media links to follow updates or news?

  • Do I need to bring my own instruments or equipment? 
    We can provide many high-quality microphones, instruments, amplifiers, and recording equipment listed in the tech specs on the Studios page. We do not provide cymbals or sticks for recording drums so please bring your own! You are welcome to bring any of your own gear if you prefer. 

  • Can I bring my own engineer or producer? 
    Yes, of course. 

  • What should I do to prepare for a recording session? 

Bring any necessary files such as instrumentals or stems. These can be sent over ahead of the session to speed up the setup. 

Communicate your goals with the engineer ahead of time.

  • Do you provide engineers or assistants? 
    Yes. We have several in-house and freelance engineers and assistants. 

  • What recording formats do you use? 

We primarily record to digital and create 24bit, 48kHz .WAV files. Alternative sample rates or bit depths are not a problem at all; these are just the industry standards. 

We do have quarter-inch and half-inch tape machines that are available, but this must be organised in advance.
